This two-day class provides information and skills for people to manage their diabetes and related conditions. We focus on teaching how to eat healthy, the importance of physical activity, how to monitor blood sugar levels, medication use, how to problem solve, reduce the risk of developing other health conditions, and to improve health and overall quality of life. Our program is led by experienced and engaging registered dietitians and diabetes educators.

During the first class, the focus is learning causes and treatment for diabetes; how to monitor blood sugar effectively; setting goals for blood sugar control; how to treat high and low blood sugar levels; and the role of medications in treating diabetes.

The second class will focus on developing sustainable lifestyle habits through diet and exercise to support the management of diabetes. Those who are newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and those needing a refresher course will benefit from this program.
