Abby James, BS, RDN, LD, CEDS
Background
Abby James is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. She earned her degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Georgia Southern University and completed her dietetic internship through the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
Abby has years of experience in nutrition counseling from adolescent to adult populations in a variety of settings such as public health and behavioral health facilities. Realizing the negative effects of dieting, diet culture and weight stigma, Abby found a passion in working with clients to help heal their relationship to food and their bodies. Abby has experience with residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient settings for eating disorders and disordered eating.
As part of her own personal food philosophy: Abby believes all foods can have a place in your life with balance and can be nourishing for your body and soul. By following Intuitive Eating principles, Health at Every Size, and All Foods Fit philosophies, Abby provides evidenced-based treatment. She aims to help all clients adequately nourish their bodies, find food freedom, and enjoy food again without fear, anxiety, or judgment.
